Another song by the Uptown Rulers. This is actually a cover of Van Morrison’s original, and I’ve always really wanted to cover the UR’s version. This song just generally makes me smile. :)

Tell Me Where You’re At, The Uptown Rulers, “twelve inches, 12!”

This was a local college band that existed when my dad was in school at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL. This song is the first off of one of their only two records (obviously CD’s didn’t exist in the mainstream yet), and one of my favorites. Around the time my dad showed me this record was when I discovered that he knew how to skank (oh boy, was that amusing) and it was cool that we had yet something else in common, blah blah blah etc. Anywho, these guys are great, my dad saw them live a lot and probably even jammed with them or was in a similar band (or five) and I love putting on this record as loud as I can without busting the speakers when no one’s home and jamming around the house. Enjoy! :)

Note: These ‘Uptown Rulers’ are not to be confused with a current band of the same name who play some sort of techno music. Definitely not the same people.
